Emergency Preparedness

Are you wondering how Sara and Dane survive their outbreak emergency?? One thing they both know is the importance of an emergency food supply. Do you have yours in place yet? No? I can help! Stop by Survival 4 Blondes today and see what I have to say about a few long-term food storage options! Which one will work best for you and your family??

Want to learn more about Sara and Dane’s story? Here’s the blurb and isn’t the cover fantastic?!!

Escape to my Arms is an upcoming novella with Decadent Publishings new Prepper Romance line. I’m super excited to be a part of this great new line from Decadent. Here’s the blurb for Escape to my Arms:

Sara’s been preparing for this moment her whole life—she just never believed it would actually happen. With her bug-out bag and emergency food already in her truck, her only goal is to get to her family’s hidden bunker and wait out the pandemic that’s hit every major cruise ship port in the US. But her plan quickly falls apart. She’s out of gas, her route to the bunker is now a two-lane parking lot with no alternative in sight and her only weapon is a pocketknife. For an experienced prepper, she’s making every rookie mistake.

Dane believes he’s safe in his cabin, off the beaten path and in the woods with his own source for water, electricity and an endless supply of food to hunt. After finding Sara stranded and alone, he’s suddenly not only providing for and protecting himself, but also the girl who wandered out of the woods and into his life. When looters come looking to take what he has, Sara and Dane’s only option is to make a run for their last hope—the bunker.

Can Sara and Dane find safety in each other’s arms and the strength to survive long enough to escape to the hidden bunker and their future together?

Stuck on You COVER REVEAL!

It’s finally time to reveal the cover for STUCK ON YOU, the sequel to Falling for You. Isn’t he delicious?? Yum.

Stuck on You releases Feb 11th. I can’t believe it’s only 5 weeks away!! And it has already found its way to Goodreads! But without a cover. Hopefully the cover goes up soon too! If you’re on Goodreads, add it to your To Read list!

STUCK ON YOU on Goodreads

Stuck on You is Paige’s story. Paige was another contestant on The One in Falling for You and she became fast friends with Cassidy. I’m so excited to share her story!! Check out the blurb!

If being forced to team up with reality TV’s favorite bad girl wasn’t enough, falling for her brother might just make this reality show a real nightmare.

Paige Anderson agrees to be on a new reality show called Treasure Trekkers, a show where contestants use handheld GPS units to find hidden caches filled with prizes, with her good friend Cassidy. But when Cassidy is unable to compete, Chip Cormack, the show’s producer, steps in with a last-minute replacement to be Paige’s partner—Zoe Oliver, reality TV’s favorite bad girl.

Jack Miles (aka Miles) is a mountain climber with the body to prove it. Miles convinced his climbing partner Ben to come on the show with him for one reason—to prove to Ben that they can still hike together, regardless of the fact that Ben lost his foot in a tragic accident. Miles isn’t about to let anything get in his way of winning—not even beautiful Paige.

But when Miles and Paige are thrown into an alliance with their teammates, working closely together leads to more than just good strategy. Can Paige steal Miles’ heart while surviving Zoe long enough to win the game?

Welcome to 2013 GIVEAWAY!

Thank you to all my awesome readers for making 2012 an amazing year for me. I can’t even begin to tell you how much it means to me that you give your time to my books. I heart you. 🙂

2013 is here and I think it’s going to be an even better year!! I’m starting the year off right with a giveaway!! Use the rafflecopter bellow to enter for your chance to win. The more you do, the more chances you could win!

Newly single Cassidy Quinn is thrilled to be a contestant on the new reality dating show The One. But her excitement turns to horror when the gorgeous bachelor turns out to be her ex-boyfriend. Seeing Brad again makes Cassidy realize she might not be as “over him” as she thought—and then she meets hunky cameraman Evan Burke.

After watching his brother lose his wife in a tragic accident, Evan vows never to fall in love. But following Cassidy around as her personal cameraman makes him question his decision, and resisting her gets harder with every sunbathing, bikini-wearing day.

Cassidy and Evan begin a forbidden affair while her ex-boyfriend tries to win her heart back one groping, awkward moment at a time. If Cassidy can manage to stop falling off horses (literally), stop falling onto her ex-boyfriend, the bachelor (yes, literally), and stop falling in love with backstage playboy Evan, she might still make it through the show without becoming a tabloid sensation.

But soon Cassidy must choose between the ex who broke her heart and the cameraman who might never love her back. For Cassidy, this reality show just got real.

Deadline Dishes — My Favorite Christmas Recipe!

I know I’m a little late posting Christmas recipes, but there’s still time for you to make this one if you want. The best part about it is that you make most of it on Christmas Eve night then stick it in the fridge, covered until morning. In the morning, do that last little step and put it in the oven. While it cooks, we pop the cork on a bottle of bubbly, make mimosas with orange juice and get to opening presents. By the time it’s done in an hour, the kids and us are hungry and ready for a break from the present opening! And the house smells delicious!

Here’s the recipe for Christmas Morning Wife Saver and I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!

Ingredients:

16 slices white bread, crusts
removed
16 slices Canadian back bacon or
ham
16 slices sharp cheddar cheese
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2-1 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
1-2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 cups milk
dash Tabasco
1/2 cup butter
Special K or crushed Corn Flakes

Instructions:

Set 8 pieces of bread into a 9″ x 13″ (23 x 33 cm) buttered, glass baking dish. Cover bread with slices of back bacon. Lay slices of cheddar cheese on top of bacon and then cover with remaining slices of bread to make it like a sandwich.

In a bowl, beat eggs and pepper. To the egg mixture add dry mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, milk and Tabasco.

Pour over the sandwiches, cover and let stand in fridge overnight. In morning, melt butter, pour over top. Cover with Special K or crushed Corn Flakes.

Bake, uncovered, 1 hour at 350 deg.F (180 deg.C). Let sit 10 minutes before serving.

Check out this recipe and many more awesome recipes on the Best of Bridge website!

**Okay, so I change my recipe a little. I don’t use Worcestershire or Tabasco and I use skim milk instead of whole. Even with these adjustments, the recipe still turns out delicious. It’s sort of like every breakfast combined into one. Yum!

I suggest service it with fruit, yogurt, crispy bacon and of course a fresh mimosa!

Happy Holidays! May your holidays be filled with happiness and many blessings! See you in 2013!

~Heather Thurmeier
