And…Done. Again.

I think I’ve finally finished the revisions I started based off of both the critique I got from my RWA chapter members and also from the Agent that read my ms. Whew! That was a huge job!!

I went into these revisions with a clear idea of  what needed to be changed, added, deleted, scenes created, etc. but for some crazy reason, I thought all that sounded like small stuff that wouldn’t take me too long to complete. Boy was I wrong! Every time I checked one thing off my list, there was another and another that followed.

However, I trudged through and I think I managed to satisfying the critiques I received and my own creative control over the story. I think the end product is strong, engaging, heartwarming, and most of all — ready to sell! So here goes again. Time to send out a few new queries and see what kind of a response I get. Hopefully it’ll be requests for a partial or even better, a full! Wish me luck and good luck to you and your projects!

    Good luck Heather!
    Fingers crossed for you!
I know what you mean about revisions turning out to be more than you’d anticipated. Changing one tiny thing can lead to so many other changes throughout the manuscript. Be proud you completed it!

I figured out how to add your blog to my list so now I can see when you post. I’m always last to comment and I don’t know if you’ve even seen my comments. But I’ve been following you! That sounded stalkerish….Sorry.

Thanks Wendy! I’m happy with my revisions, and even happier that they’re finished. Now I can focus on trying to find it a home again. There is a real sense of accomplishment to setting goals and completing them, so yes, I’m very proud of myself!

I have seen you comment on my blog, but I guess I’ve been bad about responding…Oops! Sorry about that. I READ and appreciate every single comment I get! So thanks again for stopping by my humble blog. I saw the pics you put up from national on your blog and I can’t wait to read more about your experience there. I already told my husband that if I’m still looking for an agent or editor by the time the conference rolls around next year, that I’ll definitely want to go.

      I actually like revisions.

It’s getting stuff down in the first place (well, not the first place, exactly–more like the middle!) that sometimes befuddles me.

I enjoy revisions too, but at a certain point they get tiresome. I’m happy to finally finish what I started and get working on something new.

Glad to hear you’ve finished and ewady to go. Wishing you lots of luck.

      Thanks Janet!
