On to Project Three

Alright, project one, the single title contemporary is with an agent in partial form. <Fingers crossed Peeps!!> Project two, the contemporary novella is with a beta reader again for a final read through, then it’s off to some e-pubs. I finished the query for it and I’m trying to get the synopsis squared away now. It will be sent out before the end of the month and then I’ll be holding my breath to hear back about it until probably the end of the year or even into Jan. Yikes! That wait is going to suck. *sigh*

So that means it’s on to project three and I’m still undecided about what it should be. Should I dive into my next single title contemporary? Should I try another novella? Or how about something right in between, say a 50,000 word NaNoWriMo project? Don’t know what NaNo is? Check here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/  Write 50,000 words in 30 days. Easy peasy, right? I’m a little terrified of NaNo. Choices, choices…

I have a few ideas rattling around for different things, but I need to focus on them and then pick one. Not sure if there’s one idea standing out more than the others right now or not. But at least there are a few ideas. I definitely need to spend a little time fleshing out the ideas more in depth, so that’s my next immediate goal (after finishing my novella synopsis and submitting).

So what do you think? What should I focus on next? What’s your next project?

    What do you want towrite?

    Write that.

(Once you get an agent or editor, s/he might have other ideas.)

    Hi Heather!
I find the 50,000 word count works best for me. 75,000, 90,000 terrifies me! I’m onto my second medical romance. Now that I’m under contract, I feel pressured to produce. Hopefully that won’t effect my writing!

Heather, Can’t tell you what to begin but do begin something. For both of the lengths you’ve written you need a follow up. Try out the Two Sentence Synopsis on a few ideas and see which one grabs you.

As for me, I have projects to last for a long time.

I think I’m going to try plotting out my ideas better and see which one gets me the most excited!

  4. Shoshanna Evers says:

Definitely do NaNo. You can start outlining now and be ready to roll when November rolls along. It’s so much fun. That’s my plan too!

I also need to re-read Chastity Belt one last time before I sub it to Ellora’s Cave, so I suppose that’s my next project.

After I beta your novella of course 🙂
